BRIDGING THE GAP...
Striker's PARTshare technology seamlessly shares SolidWorks or Autodesk
Inventor data! |
|
Striker’s new PARTshare is a shared storage
technology that allows users of SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor to maintain
the latest revision of 3-D models and corresponding flat parts.
Striker’s sheet metal fabrication software includes a direct interface to
the PARTshare database, thereby providing real-time access to the latest
manufacturing data!
|
What is
PARTshare?
PARTshare is an extension of the standard Striker Part Library system
accessible from all Striker Systems products. PARTshare extends the
networked Striker Part Library into SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, allowing part data to
be seamlessly shared between applications.
How does PARTshare work?
SolidWorks and
Autodesk Inventor users can add models to the PARTshare database
through the standard PARTshare interface. When sheet metal models are
added to PARTshare, the user is prompted whether to save the solid model,
the unfolded flat part, or both. Parts added to the PARTshare database are
accessible by other PARTshare users on the network. |

What are the benefits of PARTshare?
The benefits of PARTshare are extensive.
The highlights include...
|
- Seamless Data Sharing - For users
of Striker's FAB Professional and FabCAD sheet metal manufacturing
products, PARTshare provides true, seamless integration between
engineering and manufacturing functions. As SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor models
are added to PARTshare from engineering, the flat part data is immediately
accessible to Striker sheet metal manufacturing.
- Part Cleanup - As current
SolidWorks and Autodesk
Inventor users know, when unfolded models are translated via DXF file there are
occasionally "cleanup" issues that must be dealt
with including duplicate, segmented, and overlapping geometry.
PARTshare automatically preps the flat part data for continued processing.
- Process Verification - PARTshare
allows parts to be saved at each stage of the manufacturing process.
This includes the SolidWorks or Inventor model, the flat part, and the part with
specific manufacturing data applied for one or more sheet metal
manufacturing processes, such as a turret punch press or laser cutting
operation. This production tree can be viewed by others with access
to PARTshare providing instant verification of the part's current
manufacturing stage.
- Common SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor Model Library -
PARTshare includes an extensive library creation system with advanced
search and filtering utilities. Standard SolidWorks or Inventor parts that need to
be shared with the Workgroup can be categorized in multiple libraries to
be retrieved as necessary. Parts can be retrieved by other users with a part number search or by filtering on specific part
criteria.
