When the blueprint of the STRIKER Sheet Metal CAD/CAM software was originally
designed the decision was made to base the product on Autodesk technology. The
advantages stemming from this decision, for both Striker Systems and our
customers, have been tremendous; culminating in two distinct variations of the
STRIKER CAD/CAM software to meet your sheet metal manufacturing requirements…
|
AutoCAD Based
|
|
Stand Alone
|
For AutoCAD users, STRIKER CAD/CAM is available as a plug-in to the latest
release of your AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical software. This enhances your
AutoCAD environment providing a truly seamless sheet metal CAD/CAM and nesting
environment.
|
|
For non-AutoCAD users, STRIKER CAD/CAM is available as a stand-alone solution
built on an underlying AutoCAD OEM platform. This incorporates the design power
of AutoCAD with the advanced CNC programming and nesting of Striker Systems;
delivered as one powerful CAD/CAM solution.
|
|
The Autodesk Advantage...
|
Regardless of which Striker Systems CAD/CAM solution meets your sheet metal
manufacturing needs, the AutoCAD technology offers significant advantages over
convention CAD/CAM systems.
|
|
Industry Standard File Format – STRIKER CAD/CAM products use the
industry standard AutoCAD DWG as the native file format. This insures
unsurpassed compatibility with other CAD and CAM software products, many of
which read and write directly to the industry standard DWG format. You can feel
confident knowing that your valuable data is accessible from numerous
applications.
|
Removal of Data Translations - Striker Systems provides a truly
integrated CAD/CAM solution that supports the entire manufacturing process from
initial part design through the generation of NC programs with no data
translations required. And unlike many manufacturing software products with
limited design capability, STRIKER CAD/CAM includes an advanced engineering
system for the most demanding design requirements.
|
Industry Standard Data Translators - In the event it is necessary to
import data from (or export data to) another CAD software, Striker Systems
relies on the standard DXF, IGES, and STEP translators found in AutoCAD or
AutoCAD Mechanical. Autodesk is the author of the DXF file format and therefore
defines this standard. And because AutoCAD is the most popular CAD software in
the world, it is a benchmark for the development of translators by other CAD
software organizations.
|
SolidWorks, Solid Edge, & Autodesk Inventor Compatibility - The
industry is rapidly embracing solid modeling technology. Being based on
Autodesk's industry standard DWG file format, Striker Systems offers a level of
compatibility not found by other manufacturing solutions. Many products, such
as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge provide direct support for
Striker's DWG file format. Striker Systems also offers our PARTshare interface
for Autodesk
Inventor and
SolidWorks, as well as direct OLE links into SolidWorks, Inventor and
Solid Edge for unprecedented sharing of data.
|
Reduced Training Time / Cost - Both the AutoCAD based and stand-alone
STRIKER CAD/CAM products provide an enhanced AutoCAD user interface.
Individuals familiar with AutoCAD will readily adapt to the Striker environment
thereby minimizing their learning curve. And for organizations that use AutoCAD
as their CAD solution, it is not necessary for your employees to learn multiple
operating environments as they would with separate CAD and CAM solutions.
